Reptilian nail art feat. Illamasqua Destiny

In celebration of Chinese New Year 2014, Myer Australia has a worldwide exclusive Illamasqua Nail Varnish shade, Destiny.  It's not very often that Australia has an exclusive polish not for sale anywhere else, and what's even more awesome is what a stunning polish it is!

I discovered that not all Myer stores carry Illamasqua, in fact apparently only a few stores do.  When I asked the sales assistant in the Canberra City store where there Illamasqua polishes were, she look at me with a very puzzled face and said, 'Myer don't stock that brand, but we have OPI over here'. Grrrrr, actually it's just our stupid country bumpkin store doesn't!  I was lucky enough to have a friend grab me a bottle from the Sydney store, but it looks like it is available for purchase online from Myer, although shipping is only for Australia.

I created some reptilian nail art inspired by a design I saw on Instagram by @nextgennailz. I created a gradient using green and yellow polishes, then I stamped with Winstonia plate W101. I then painted a deep triangular chevron using Destiny.  The colour really blended into the gradient and what you mainly saw as the green sparkles on the edges. I loved this mani.

Here are some swatches of Illamasqua Destiny on it's own. Did I mention that it's basically a one coater?  I did two coats for added depthness, but I'm amazed how well the glitter shows up on a polish that is so opaque. It's also really smooth considering all the glitter that is in it.  Just one coat of Seche Vite top coat.
