Blue arches with Swarvoski crystals

I recently purchased a mixed bag of tiny SS5 sized Swarovski crystals to use in nail art.  They look so much sparkier than those cheap plastic ones I don't think I will ever switch back.  Plus I can clean these ones off with acetone and reuse them over and over again.

For this mani I wanted to compliment the crystals, so I made a bunch of stamping decals. To colour in the decals I used Sally Hansen Celeb City and to get the range of blue shades I just mixed a few drops of Orly Halley's Comet and Picture Polish Bombshell for the darkest blue.

Are you read for this?  I also created a video tutorial for Instagram.  In fact I've been having lots of fun trying to record as I paint my manis so I can do some short 15 second tutorials.  I warn you, my set up isn't great.  I'm still not happy with the lighting.  The odd thing is that the videos seem to look better when I just use the regular overhead lighting rather to trying to brighten things up with my bright white lights.

I've also ordered myself a mini tripod for my iphone which will hopefully help too.  For all my up coming videos I've been sticky taping my iphone onto a tissue box and then trying to position my hand underneath.  A lot of the time I check my video later and discover that my hand was only half in the view of the video!!

Here it is, please be kind.  It's hard to fit everything into 15 seconds!!

Is that one of the MoYou sailor plates? I think I have that one, in fact the mani I have on now is from that plate

  4. I love the use of swarovski crystals, some of them can have an awesome duochrome effect. Where did you manage to find ones this small?

    1. I just purchased them through an Australian ebay seller, by searching for Swarovski 5ss,which is the smallest size.
