40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Halloween

Halloween, meh.   Yeah I'm kinda meh about it.  We really don't celebrate Halloween here, no trick or treating, no haunted houses, no fancy dress or costumes.  I often feel kind of stupid even doing Halloween nail art, because when my colleagues look at it, they ask what I have painted on my nails.  When I explain it's for Halloween they all look at me funny with a "oh, right" sort of comment.  As such this really is the only Halloween mani I've done this year, and while I love the gradient, the basic stamping sure makes the whole mani feel rather half arsed.

The gradient was created using the same three colours I used for my mosaic mani last week, Super Chic Lacquer 40 winks and No rest for the wicked and Emily de Molly Scorched Earth. Stamping was all off Winstonia plate W116.

Superchic Lacquer - Dreamology Collection

Next time that the fabulous Jennifer from Wonder Beauty Products offers to send me some polishes to review, I have to remind myself how completely awesome Superchic polishes always are. Next time I wont say to her "Hey I'm really busy and don't want to take on too many polishes, so just send me a few", because damn it, her polishes are just too awesome.

Case and point is her recently Dreamology Collection.  Oh Em Gee ladies, these are some of be best holos I've seen in a while, and stupid me only said "send me three".  There are three other polishes in this collection, and I think I'll have to jump over to her site and grab the others.  Let me show you why.

40 Winks - this intense violet purple linear holo is shown here at just one coat.  One coat of perfect coverage but still an intense holo flame.

Lucid Lala Land - a bold and pigmented blue with a strong holo flame.  Again, this is just a single coat.  I've only ever seen the Dance Legend holos have this much flame and strong pigmentation.  I love this one so much!

No Rest for the Wicked -a deep emerald green, with (you guessed it) strong holo and amazing pigmentation.  Just one coat for full coverage.

All my swatches show a single coat with no top coat over base coat.  Because of the high colour saturation, you'll want to make sure you wear base coat, which I did,and therefore I had no issues with staining, even after wearing Lucid Lala Land for about 4 days.

Now when you add the other 3 polishes, a berry magenta, a red and a black holo, this really is an exceptional collection

The Dreamology Collection is available from Wonder Beauty Products now (there was a restock about 12 hours ago, so you will have to be quick as this was the third restock due to it being a high demand collection).

Polishes provided for consideration.

Butterfly Wings nail art

I have a really pretty one for you today.  Butterfly wings, and not just plain wings, multicoloured metallic foil gradient butterfly wings.

I created the foil gradients using a whole bunch of the Salley Hansen Color Foil polishes. I know someone is going to ask me what stamping plate this is, but damn it, I did this mani about three weeks ago and I don't remember now.  And because I'm turning into a pretty slack arse blogger, I didn't even write it down.  And because I have a sleeping cat on my lap, I'm not getting up to go look.

Anyway, ignore my attitude, I don't really have my cranky pants on, I think I'm just tired.  It seems everyone is tired at the moment!  Instead, check out my pretty nails.  Shiny!!

40 Great Nail Art Ideas - Orange, Purple and Green

This week has gone by so fast, I can't believe its challenge time again already.

This weeks prompt calls for us to use the colour orange, purple and green altogether in one mani, matching up with our assigned technique prompt.  My technique prompt this week is Mosaic / Stained Glass.

Let me tell you this mani took me ages!! Like two hours ages to to.  I did ten full nails as stamping decals, and the design I chose had such small details that it too forever to paint each one.

The stamping image is from Lily Anna 05 and the polishes I used are Super Chic lacquer 40 winks and No rest for the wicked and Emily de Molly Scorched Earth.  I only just received the Super Chic lacquers, and I haven't even swatched them, but the purple and green were too perfect not to use for this challenge mani.  I can't wait to show you the swatches though, cause they are amazing one coat holos.

I made the decals using my UberChic stamping mat.

Dance Legend Steel Panther with Leadlight stamping

I did this mani ages ago after being inspired by a mani by Rainbowify Me where she used Dance Legend Steel Panther and leadlighting.

Steel Panther is such an amazing silver scattered holo, I love how dense it is with holo particles.

I used a Messy Mansion plate for the stamping and Dance Legend Aquarelle top coats for the leadlighting.

Emily de Molly - October releases

Oh my I've been so super busy with life.  I can't believe it's already mid October.  I remember when I was a kid that time went so slowly. School terms dragged on and holiday's lasted forever. My mum always said times goes faster as you get older, and it's so true!

It's time for some new releases from Emily de Molly.  These seven new shades will be available from this Thursday 22 October.

Lets get straight into the swatches, cause we all know that's what you are here for.

Anywhere but here - a wisteria purple with a metallic sheen and linear holo.  Shown here at two coats with Seche Vite top coat.

Worn with some silver stamping using Messy Mansion silver stamping polish.

Fixed course - a rich and pigmented teal green with linear holo. Shown here at two coats with Seche Vite top coat.

Worn with gold stamping using Mundo de Unas Gold and EdM 04 plate.

Heavy Aura - an ever so pale, greyed out pink with a liner holo and a golden shimmer. Shown here at two coats with Seche Vite top coat.

Worn with black stamping using EdM 05 plate.

Meet my fate - a royal blue jelly with blue flakies and pinky red flecks. Shown here at two coats with Seche Vite top coat.

Worn with a feature nail from Moyou sailor 04 plate.

Open Season - a warm purple jelly with blue glitters and red micro glitters.  Shown here at two coats with Seche Vite top coat.

Worn with blue stamping from EdM 21 plate.

Scorched earth - I want to call this orange, but it leans pink making it more coral than a pure orange.  Strong linear holo.  Shown here at two coats with Seche Vite top coat.

Worn with black stamping from BM-H06 plate.

Viridescent - super soft pastel green with a strong linear holo and a golden sheen. Shown here at two coats with Seche Vite top coat.

Worn with black stamping from EDM12 plate.

As usual, the formula on all these polishes were excellent.  They were all opaque in two coats, even the two pastel shades. Dry time was also good and I was able to stamp on these very soon after applying Seche Vite top coat.

These seven new shades launch on Thursday morning Australian Eastern Daylight Time 22 October  on both the Australian Emily de Molly website and the US website at www.emilydemolly.com.
Polishes provided for consideration.
