People, my life is very busy. I work full time, I'm a mum of two young kids, I love nail polish and nail art and I'm a blogger.  There really just isn't time to do it all, especially it to do it all well.  

I just went to write up a blog post today and I looked in my photo drafts and I only have one mani in there. I then looked at my drafts in blogger and there are two in there.  This is a all time low of drafts and manis waiting to be published for me and it means the gaps between blog posts are going to get longer.  I've even worn the same mani on my nails since I painted them on Sunday night (but I've gotta say, my nails are still looking damn fine with no chips!)

I was reading blog post by Debhoorah (formally know as the nail blogger the Crumpet) the other day and there was a line in there that really hit home to me - "Need more time? Stop blogging" Ouch, but so true.  No I'm not ready to do that. I do enjoy sharing my manis too much and keeping this record on the interwebs forever of all the time I'm wasted doing my nails.  

There is also light at the end of the tunnel.  I have another massive project due at work on 20 March. My whole section is busting their arses to get it done on time, we are working weekends and public holidays but we are so close now.  After that I see me getting back to where I was before.  Painting my nails more regularly and building up a bank of posts again. 

In the mean time, here is one of those drafts from blogger that I did back in December.  Polished by KPT Luminaries looks so much prettier in real life, as it has a strong iridescent purple shimmer.  It would look amazing over black, but instead I layered about 4 coats of a nude base to try and make it opaque.  It sort of worked, but wasn't as pretty as the bottle was.

I then did some stamping and lead lighting using the Dance Legend Aquarelle top coats.  Problem was that I was rushing to finish it and put top coat on too quickly, when the Aquarelle wasn't dry, therefore the green bleed into the purple.  Meh, a bit of a fail in that regard.

I picked up this polish from Femme Fatale during their January sale, so it's only taken me five months to show it to you - way to go girl!

I'm such a sucker for gold polish and of course I love green polish too (hello Kryptonite) so when I first saw swatches of La Catrina I knew it was a polish I wanted to have.  

La Catrina is a thermal that shifts between a golden copper shade when it's warm to an earthy green shade in the cold.  Again, rather than playing with some water to show the hot and cold versions, I've just photographed this as it showed up on me.  The green colour showed up nicely on my tips, which I  have to say were at about their longest I let them grow.  You really get the most out of thermals if you have longer nails.

I also did some floral stamping using a Lily Anna plate and Essie Penny Talk.

I told myself that I never needed to purchase thermal polish given I could franken up pretty much any ones I wanted using the thermal colour changing pigments I showed more than year ago. But of course mixing something yourself takes precious time that I have very little spare, so when I received a voucher to spend at Femme Fatale Cosmetics, I picked up a range of polishes that I wouldn't normally have purchased.  Yippee, this meant I was able to try new indie brands too.  This polish falls into that category.

Polished by KPT - Kelvin Blue changes between a silvery pale blue (warm) to a periwinkle blue (cold) jelly.  There is also a fine scattered holo finish.

I didn't bother with any hand dunking in water action to show the colour changes, as you can easily google of other swatches of those, instead I just left the polish alone to show how it looked on me in it's natural state.

As you can see, there is a light colour change on the tips of my nails, but also that different fingers of mine were different temperatures.  My pinky was rather cold and my thumb was very warm.

I did some double stamping inspired by a similar look by Bettina's Nails.  I used Emily de Molly stamping plate EDM03 and stamped with black using the geometric design and then stamped in white using the circle design.
