31DC2019 is happening!

September is nearly here, and that means the 31 Day Challenge is nearly here too. I've done the challenge five times, but missed it last year as we were travelling overseas for two months. I'm keen to do it again, although not sure I will hit the mark and get every day posted consecutively, but that's ok, because the rules are pretty flexible.

As per previous years, I invite you to all to join me!

If you are unfamiliar with the challenge, check out the 31 Day Challenge FAQ and inlinkz to learn more. Looking for the inlinkz? they're on the same page.  Unfortunaly the inLinkz accounts have changed, which means I can no longer have more than 5 concurrent inlinkz open at the same time, so if you want to post to the inlinkz, try and keep within 5 days of the challenge, or just let me know and I'll fiddle the date to open some up again so you can add your links. Don't forget that you can link to Instagram too.

Finally, make sure to use this year's hashtag: #31DC2019

Here are the 31 Day Challenge prompts for 2019! Feel free to share, repost, upload to your blog, put on Instagram, etc. Click to enlarge.

Will you be joining us? Let me know in the comments?

Gradient, double stamped patterns for Digital Dozen does patterns

Here is a mani that I did several months ago and it just so happened to fit the 'Patterns' prompt. The background is a pretty vertical gradient across all five nails using the Pretty Serious Pastel Pets collection. I then stamped with black polish and the Color Club Harp on It from their original Holo Hues collections in 2015. I've seen other people stamping with Harp on It and it's always looks amazing, but I'm not sure it was the best choice. I might have to go though all my holo polishes to see which one is the best for stamping.

Circle pattern for Digital Dozen does Patterns

For day 3, I found my inspiration via a google image search. I often do this to see what might jump out at me.  This time I just googled the word 'patterns' and scrolled through the image results.  Not too far down I found this pattern.  Knowing I had a stamping plate with an image that would make it easy work, I was set.

I created these using white stamping polish and creating stamping decals.  I also like to cheat taking photos like this where I just pull the image up on my ipad and then photograph my nails on top of the image. So easy!

Dotty pattern for Digital Does does Patterns

Here we go with day 2 and I've done a simple framed dotty pattern.  I painted a very faint black tint on my nails first so it's not a full on negative space look.  I just mixed that sheer tint up using about 10 drops of black polish into a full bottle of clear polish.

I'm pretty pleased how thin the frame ended up being too, usually I end up with a big chonk of a line, but some how this time it stayed thin.

Grey or rainbow? Digital Dozen does patterns

Hello blog readers, is anyone out there?  I'm back for another week of posts for the Digital Dozen, which I believe is the only think keeping this little old blog alive at the moment.

As always, I;m still busy doing nail art several times a week, and photographing it, but editing those photos and posting them is a whole 'nother business.

Lets get to the nails shall we?  I really loved these, it was kinda like I wanted to be boring and dull with monotone grey nails, but nope that's just not the way I roll and I had to have the holo peaking through underneath.

This month's theme for the Digital Dozen is patterns, which is a super easy one and a really fun one to do as well.  Clearly my pattern for day one is stripes.
