31DC2019 - Galaxy - Neon galaxy

I’m always trying to think of different ways to do this prompt, so mach so that I don’t think I’ve done just a regular galaxy mani in the 31 day challenge yet. I’ve had a drip galaxy, cats in space, a pastel galaxy etc.

One that I hadn’t yet tried was a neon galaxy. These were very fun to wear and super eye catchy! I’m not sure I really got the galaxy feel to the sponged background, but chuck in a couple of star bursts, a few dots and a glitter top coat and suddenly it looks like a galaxy mani.

31DC2019 - Half Moons - Donuts

I find this prompt to be one of the hardest to come up with something unique each year.  This year I have bit of a silly fun design for this half moons prompt. These are half moon chocolate and strawberry iced donuts, with sprinkles!

31DC2019 - Glitter - Rainbow glitter placement

It’s glitter day, one of my both favourite and also most feared days of the challenge. I always love the final look of a glitter placement mani, but bloody hell, the effort involved is just ridiculous.  I’d probably rate these glitters as medium sized, I’ve done smaller and larger before. I actually timed myself for each nail and it basically took 10 minutes per finger. So yeah, that more than and hour and a half of solid glitter placing.

This was the first time I used a clear gel layer as the coat I stuck the glitters to. I think this sped up the process significantly and also made it much cleaner, as I didn’t have to keep dabbing a bit of regular nail polish down every few minutes to stick the glitter on.

31DC2019 - Geometric

Today is the middle of the challenge. Who hoo, only another 15 more days to go! Unfortunately I do find the second half of the challenge more, well challenging! The prompts are definitely harder.

The prompt today is Geometric, and like in many previous years, I’ve created some stamping decals. The image is from an Emily de Molly plate and I coloured them in using a selection of Pretty Serious pastel shades.

31DC2019 - Delicate print

In previous years I’ve put a lot of effort into thinking of things that are delicate as well as having delicate prints and then representing those things on my nails. This year I’ve just gone with some simple stamping that absolutely has a delicate feel to it.

My base for this mani is a vertical gradient using a couple of picture polish shades. I love that it’s really subtle and it almost just looks like the edges of your nails are in shadow, not that there is a darker edge from the gradient.  I then just added some fine stamping at the cuticle edge.

31DC2019 - Flowers

It’s a cheat day on the challenge today, cause I’ve gone with some beautiful flower design MILV water decals.  These are some really pretty ones, and the design of them would be very hard to create with stamping. It’s kind of an unwritten rule I like to follow with water decals, I only like to use them  when they have designs I can’t really create otherwise.
