Digital Dozen does All that Glitters

It's another Digital Dozen week already, and I really thought I had another week up my sleeve before it started, so I'm afraid to say that I'm starting the new year chasing my tail from the beginning.  The upside is that I had already painted these nails and wore them whilst I was away in Queensland before Christmas, and I'm the queen of taking shortcuts!

This mani also provided me with a new found favourite product. The Dance Legend Binary polishes.  I've swatched various Binary shades before, but this was the first real time I put them to a wear test.  I did a gradient base of two Bi shades. Lilia (the pink) and Lisa (the blue). On their own they are both amazing polishes, smooth and gloss to apply and great pigmentation.

Cause a regular gradient just wasn't going to cut it two weeks before Christmas, I had to add some bling. So I burnished in some of the holo flake powder.  There are bunches of places you can get this stuff now.  I got my little baggie from Spectraflair4U early last year I think, and it's still only $6 USD a gram.  After that was rubbed in I applied a coat of the Dance Legend Binary top coat.

Did this last on my nails. Well let me tell you that this would have survived a nuclear explosion I think.  I gave my nails some pretty harsh treatment whilst away. We visited the Gold Coast theme parks for 7 days straight, including full days at Wet n Wild. At the end of it I only had a little bit of tip wear.

I've actually started using the Binary top coat as my go-to top coat for the last month instead of Seche Vite, which is really quite shocking for me, cause I'm a Seche Vite girl through and through. Sure, the Binary top coat doesn't dry quite as quick as Seche, but I sure can't beat the staying power when I want my mani to last for several days.

Pink flower MILV water decals over Dance Legend Bi Oksana 49

This mani was so adorable, I just loved wearing it.  I wore it during the time that I went to floriade, which is my home town's spring flower festival.

It was such as simple mani to do because of the awesome MILV water decals.  These ones are transparent with the pink roses and the gold fish net pattern, which means you can wear it over any base colour and it's going to look pretty amazing.

I applied them over Dance Legend Binary polish called Oksana. Now, I've not really read much about the Bi range, because I'm lazy and everything both on the bottle and on blogs is in Russian. But this time when I wore this polish I applied two coats of the pink colour, and then one coat of the Bi Top coat instead of my normal Seche Vite top coat.  Oh my. This stuff was a hard as nails. I'm sure I wore this for an entire week with no chips and not even tip wear. I'm super duper impressed by the longevity of the Bi range when it's paired up correctly.

Polishes and water decals provided for consideration, but don't let that make you think I'm raving about these cause they are press samples. I'm genuinely impressed with the Binary range and the ease of use of the water decals, not to mention the massive range of designs to suit all tastes and would happily recommend them to anyone.

31DC2017 - Inspired by the supernatural - Wildfire

The count down is on, only two days left to go. Only one more mani that I need to paint and then I did it. I'm looking forward to having a little blogging rest I tell you.

Ok, supernatural day! I always dread this day a little, thinking I'll never come up with something good that I'll like, but just about every time I've managed to pull something out of my butt that I did really like.  Just like this year.

Continuing my Game of Thrones theme from last year where I painted the Night King, this year I have rich green wildfire. BOOOOOOMMM!

I love these sorts of drag marble flames, I've done them before in purple fore the 31 Day Challenge back in 2014. They are so easy to paint and look very effective.

I used two new polishes from Dance Legend in this mani. The base is Pied Piper from the Sparkly collection and the green creme is Vita from the Bi collection. Once the challenge is over I'll get some swatches up of these gorgeous shades.

31DC2017 - Inspired by a Flag - Mars

Only three days to go, we're almost there!  Today is flag day, and really it's probably the one prompt that I struggle with the most.  Every year I want to think of something a little different and quirky, rather than just doing a traditional country flag.

This year I nearly did a rainbow flag, given they whole marriage equality vote thing, but I figured I'd done enough rainbow designs already this challenge.

So what did I end up with? This rather traditional flag pattern featuring red, green and blue.  This flag is apparently the flag of the planet Mars.  The red represents the red dirt, and the green and blue represent the future terra-forming of the planet, with green for plants material and blue for the water. Interesting huh!

I used two different brand scattered holos for this look. Macaron from Picture Polish, and inhale and night rangers from Dance Legend.

31DC2017 - Inspired by a colour - Dance Legend Matrix, red pill and blue pill

The prompt today is 'inspired by a colour', and each year I've interpreted this to be inspired the the name of a polish.  For the third time in five years, I've chosen a polish from Dance Legend. I just that shows that they have some well chosen names among their polishes.

Now I've actually chosen two polishes from Dance Legend for the inspired by. Red Pill and Blue Pill from the Matrix collection. There are six polishes in the collection and they are all inspired by the Matrix movie.  These two are absolutely amazing, and the pick of the bunch in my opinion. Be sure to scroll to the bottom to see my swatches of Red Pill and Blue Pill.

For the nail art, I attempted to create the actual Red and Blue pills like the appear in the movie. On the other fingers I created the Matrix by stamping the binary numbers from BM415 in two shades of green.

31DC2017 - Flowers and Digital Dozen turns 5 with Dance Legend Lumos pigment

Oh my, I am really stretching the friendship with the prompt themes with this one!  Let me start by saying I love the final look.  But it's not really a strong flower theme now is it!

The five theme is pushing it a bit too. You see I hand painted 5 little flowers on each nail. Oh well. Like I said, I still like the final look. I haven't worn a hounds tooth design in ages, and I really love bold pattern designs with flowers either stamped or painted over.

Oh I nearly forgot. These glowed in the dark too. And really seriously glowed.  Over my white base of Dance Legend Glitter base, I rubbed in some Dance Legend Lumos powder. The powder is white, so you can't see it at all over a white base.  I did have a little trouble getting it to stick to my nail and ended up apply a layer of nail foil glue, which worked perfectly in making the pigment stick.  Here is a shot of the glow on it's own, and then the final mani.
