I shit you not, seriously the cutest thing ever!!  It's only cause I saw him playing with the camera that I asked what he was doing. He said, "playing with mummy's polishes". Not bad painting skills either, right.

And now some Gosh Holographic spam, just because I wore it last week and took more photos.

Last weekend my husband and I had the pleasure of attending the wedding of a girlfriend of mine from work.  The wedding was really lovely, and the dinner afterward was just delicious.  It was at a nearby winery and renown country smokehouse called The Poacher's Pantry.  I'd heard great things about it, and it totally lived up to my expectations.

Prior to the wedding, I created two polishes specifically for my friend.  After working out the recipe in a mini bottle, I made her two full size bottles, one of each colour.  I put them into cleaned out Nfu Oh bottles (from some Nfu Oh polishes I scored for $2).

This first one is what she has named 'Fiona's Wedding'.  She wore a classic french polish on her fingers for the wedding, but I noticed that she wore this one on her toes!

In the sun it's a magical metallic holographic gold.  Below in the shade, it is a lovely neutral cool toned gold.

I'm so in love with the polish.  It's a 100% me colour too, in fact I made myself a full sized bottle of this after I made hers.  I made it using TKB forged gold pigment, TKB gold sparks, 1500-35 spectraflair and suspension base.

Next up is the second polish, which my friend named 'Fiona's Honeymoon'.  Maybe she is wearing this one right now?  I wanted to create another metallic holo, and I wanted it to be pink.  I'd remembered seeing her wear a Sally Hansen pink chrome polish once, so I thought she might like this.

Again I mixed a mini bottle first, then made up the full sized one once I had worked out the recipe.

I made this one with TKB metallic white pigment (which I never would have bought, but it came in their sample pack where they choose the colours).  I love the metallic white pigment cause it turns whatever colour polish you are making into a metallic finish, and it also tones down the colour.  So it's great if you are going for a pastel shade.  I also used some of my magenta liquid tint,1500-35 Spectaflair and suspension base.

I don't want to call these polishes Frankens, because they were not created from other polishes.  They were created from scratch with all raw materials.  I think I will just call them custom polishes when I haven't added another polish to it.

Here is the last of the Hits Holographic polishes, the silver holo Artemis. I also have Hefesto, the top coat, which I have used a couple of times already, and showed it on the Mish Mash comparison post.

Artemis is similar to Hermes, in that it is a metallic holo.  Hermes is the gold version, Artemis is the silver version.  As you can see, where the light hits this polish it is metallic and reflective.  I like the finish a lot cause it means the polish looks a bit more interesting in low light.

The holo effect, because of the metallic base, isn't as prominent as some of the other colours in this collection.

Formula was good for this one, nice and smooth. It is still a sheer polish though. This was three coats and there was still a visible nail line.

So here is yet another silver holo comparison.  I chose the polishes from my collection that may be the most similar.  From left to right: Artemis, China Glaze OMG, Ozotic 509 and s 1500-20 Spranken.  

My original spectrafranken is the closest match. Ozotic 509 the most holo, and China Glaze OMG has much, much finer particles.  All these were three coats.

To sum up the Hits Holographics collection in one word.  Amazeballs! or should I use Awesomesauce! either way, this is a top notch collection which you should try to get your hands on if you can.  

I'm so happy I've made some lovely contacts in Brazil (you know who you are!) who I can do nail polish swaps with.  Brazil have some fantastic polish lines and collections and I have some more coming in the mail to me soon.  I can't wait.

Loved this one. Great holo, nice formula, unique pinky mauve colour not duped in any of my holos.

I found it!  The only Hits Holographic polish that I'm not going to rave about.  This is Afrodite and it's a candy pink, rather frosty looking, slightly holographic polish.

The formula of this one was tricky for me.  It was thick and gluggy and remained streaky on the nail, thick ugly lines kinda streaky.

The colour is pretty.  It's a bubblegum pink to me.  

The holo in this one was a little disappointing compared to the holo effect in the other polishes in this range.

I'm not a frosty polish hater, in fact I don't mind them at all and think there is certainly a place for frosty polishes in my collection.  But I not sold on the frosty and holographic look together, the frostiness seems to take away from the holo goodness.  Ozotic 524 is in the same "frosty holographic" boat as this one. Meh!

Next I did a comparison next to other pink holos.

Left to right: Afrodite, Ozotic 522, Ozotic 511, Ozotic 516.

Ozotic 516 on the ring finger is a rather good colour match, but it's holo is much better.  516 on the pinky finger is a much bluer shade of pink.  But my favourite by far in this group in the magnificent Ozotic 522, shown on the middle finger.

Lastly in the shade to show the base colour differences.

Sorry I skipped the rest of the Hits Holographics, I got a little side tracked with the top coats and new Ozotics. Only a couple to go, which I will finish up with this week.

Here is Hits Holographic Poseidon.  A pretty light blue holo.  This was two coats and there is a tiny bit of a nail line in the photos that really wasn't there in real life (I swear!).

Next a comparison with the other blue holos I have.  From left to right Poseidon, Ozotic 512, Ozotic 515 and Nfu Oh 65.  First in the shade.

And now in the sun.

Incredibly, even the two most similar ones Poseidon and Ozotic 512 are still slightly different colours.  I actually think Poseidon has a tiny bit more holo appearance that the Ozotics (but of course Nfu Oh 65 is from another planet entirely)

The formula was beautiful on this one and applied smoothly with no bald spots.  Not a unique colour, but certainly worth adding to your list if you don't own a light blue holo yet.

Alright lovelies, today I have some comparison photos for you.

I'm not telling you which is which yet, cause I want you to have a good look before knowing.

So, what do you think?  My opinion is that they are all indistinguishable from each other.  The colour shift in the multichrome is identical, and the holo effect in all of them looks the same too (even though I did a shitty job at capturing the holo this time!).  I knew my franken was going to be identical, but I didn't expect to get the exact same appearance from just the holo top coat applied over 505.

For the record, index finger on the left is my franken, middle finger is Mish Mash 532 and the ring finger on the right is Ozotic 505 with a single layer of Hits Hefesto Holographic top coat.

Next up I did a skittle swatch of each of the Mish Mash polishes one their own without the black base.  This was four coats of each one.

In the shade above and full sun below.  From left to right: 532, 533, 534 and 531.

The colour shift isn't very strong without the black base but I think these are really quite pretty on their own.  It's a totally different look, much softer but still with a great holographic shine.  I've been wearing these polishes all week over a black base and at the moment I'm a bit over the black base which makes my cuticles look stained around the dry edges.  Its a nice change to see something pretty and pastel.
