Pink and Aqua nail art ideas

I'm still keeping at it for the 40 Great Nail Art ideas challenge, even though less than half the original participants are still posting, I still love checking out what the hard core nailies put together on their nails each and every week.

This week's prompt is pink and aqua. In all my years of blogging I don't think I've ever done a pink and aqua design.  My personal prompt was tie dye, which I found really challenging with just those two colours in my pallet.  Last time I did tie dye nails, I did the classic rainbow version. I can't believe that was nearly three years ago.

I used three Dance Legend polishes for this look, plus a little bit of white polish.  I started with a base of Binary 49, Oksana, which is a classic pale baby pink.  Great formula and opaque with two thin coats.  I then topped that with the binary top coat before starting the nail art.

For the nail art I used binary 25, Lilia and Gel Effect 1036 (aqua), as well as more of Oksana to create the spiral tie dye effect.  I finished it all with another coat of the Binary top coat.

I really do love the Dance Legend Binary polishes for staying power. I've been pretty lazy with the nail art this week and I still have this mani on which I did on Monday night.  It still looks exactly like these polishes, no tip wear and no chips.

Here are some bonus swatch photos of binary 49 Oksana before I put the nail art on top.  This is two coats with binary top coat.

Dance Legend polishes provided for consideration.

  1. what does the Binary denote (I understand the term binary) but in regard to a polish? :)

  3. I love how this turned out! And I cant believe you did a tie-dye already 3 years ago, feels like a much younger nail style :)
