Lufee

I've not been around on my blog lately and I will post the winner of the stamping sets soon, but sometimes things in life take over, and blogging or nail polish are no longer important.

Two weeks ago our dear littlest kitty Lufee became suddenly very sick.  She spent a few days at the Canberra Vet Hospital, before we took her up to the Small Animal Specialist Hospital in Sydney.  If you live in or around Sydney, it is the place to take your sick fur baby. The vets there are amazing, so incredibly professional but also empathic and so loving and caring to our little Lufee.

We discovered she had pancreatic cancer, which like in humans is very aggressive and can be very painful.

The amazing vets at Sash did everything they could for her and we were able to bring her home on Saturday night for a few days of loves and cuddles.  She slept in our bed each night, beneath the covers snuggled against my body.  She was cuddled in our arms or curled on our laps for every moment she was home - purring and loving every minute of it.

Sadly today, it was time to say our final goodbyes.

I made this video of her on Sunday while she curled on my lap at the computer.

Our dear little Lufee - I miss you already.

  8. I'm so sorry about Lufee. :( That video is lovely! She was very beautiful, I had to mute it so I wouldn't start tearing up at work, damn music. I had noticed that you hadn't posted lately. Take as much time away from here as you need. x x

  13. My sorrows and prayers go out to you for your loss. I'm sure Lufee was very well loved and her passing was painless and surrounded by the warmth of your love and affection. Though it may sound trite I really believe suffering ends when we leave this plane and so hopefully she's now in a better place full of light warmth and all the tuna and joy she desires.

  15. Oh no poor Lufee! I'm so sorry. Such a beautiful video too (I had to watch without sound).
I had noticed you were quiet and was just about to email you and to say 'hope everything is OK' when I checked here first and saw this.
I'm going to go and give my kitty some extra cuddles now and hold on to him just a bit tighter.

  17. I cried through the video. I had to turn off the music because it was overwhelming all together. I'm so, so sorry. She had a wonderful life, home, and wonderful people who loved her. She was as lucky to have you as you were to have her.

  18. I'm so sorry to hear about your little Lufie. It's one of the hardest decisions to make and I'm sure you made it at the right time for you all. I had to say goodbye to my little man just before Christmas and I still miss him so much. Take comfort that she was loved and that she's in a better, pain free place now. She'll be waiting for you.

  20. I am so sorry for your loss! Thank you so much for sharing this with us.. she was such a beautiful cat and it sounds like she was such a good friend. I'm in tears right now watching this - a few years ago I lost all 3 of my cats within about 5 months of each other. The first, Midnight, died of old age (she was almost 19). Her birthday is tomorrow. The other two died of kidney failure. It's never easy, and it always hurts. I'm so sorry for you!

  36. So sorry you lost your furry baby...but you would not have wanted her to suffer. I have chronic illness that will be with me for the rest of my life. I have long periods where I am gone for 2 and 3 months hospital time out of my home area. I knew when this started in the 90's that my days as a pet owner would need to come to an end. I could not afford or find good care for them when I was gone and times when I am home and not able to be the best mom. So I kept my last 2 cats until they each had their times draw to a close. One I had for 23 years. It's hard now as I always had pets all my life - but I know this is best now.

  48. Aww sweetie i'm so sorry :( Lufee is such a beautiful fur baby. The video made me cry. I know what it's like to loose an animal you love. I had to say goodbye to both my childhood pets last year. Suzi and Chloe. I'm 23 and we'd had them since i can remember, since I was 5 or 6, and it definitely wasn't easy saying goodbye. *hugz* atleast she had a mommy as great as you!

  52. I'm so sorry; i can't watch the video without crying. I still have your Lufee nails from (a year?) ago starred and favorited in Google Reader. This is one of those times that i like to imagine that there is a summerland where they can romp without pain.

  55. Your video just had me in tear's. I think for us who have loved n lost a furry friend get so emotional hearing another animal lover lost their baby. I have lost all but 2 cats n 2 dogs from my childhood we had 8 cats n 4dogs. Boy do I miss each one of them so bad. Now me n my bf have a lol black baby who has gotten very sick this past week. He has been on my lap for days. Not going out in crazy for him! So scary when you see them not feeling good. My heart goes out to you n Lufee's friends n family. If anything know that they are waiting for you over rainbow bridge having a blast till they can be reunited with their best friends (you!) god bless!
