I have lots of favourtie songs and choosing just one to theme some nail art around was always going to be difficult. I was browsing through my Picture Polish draw and saw my bottle of Kryptonite, suddenly I got my inspiration.
The song I chose was Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down. I chose it clearly because it made it really easy to theme it up with my Picture Polish collaboration shade, but there was also another reason. I probably never would have thought of this song because it's not new, in fact it shocks me to read that it was actually released in 2000 - crap, where did those 13 years go? The reason I thought of this song is because of my husband.
You see, I've mentioned before that he plays baseball in the Australian Baseball League. Here in Australia, every time a batter steps up to the plate they play a song. This last season, the song they played every time my husband batted was Kryptonite. It was such a coincidence after me naming my collaboration shade Kryptnite early that year. And just in case you want to watch the amazing man behind More Nail Polish in action, here is a link to video of him hitting the championship winning home run on mlb.com.
Ok onto the nails now. I used Picutre Polish Kryptonite on my thumb, index and pinky fingers and Picture Polish Beige on the middle and ring fingers. I then added green triangle shaped rhinestones and some gold studs painted in kryptonite. The combination of stud and rhinestones was my attempt to create kryptonite crystals on my nails and I'm pretty happy with how they looked (although there is something a little alien like about them)
Here is the some Kryptonite by 3 Doors Down from 2000, in case you are too young to know it.
