Day two and I've got a pretty boring mani I feel. Sorry about that. It actually look quite pretty in real life, but it's very underwhelming in these photos.

The glitter polish is one I haven't used for ages, and it's one of the OPI Breast Cancer awareness polishes called Pink of Hearts from the 2013 duo.  It's actually a milky pink crelly with pastel glitters and a matte finish. I think it's the matte finish on the original polish that really makes this special, because most of the pastel glitters seemed to just look silver once I applied glossy top coat.

So I'm a little late to the party with the OPI Coca Cola Collection as it's been on shelves here in Australia since September (although to be fair, I swear someone stole the month of October as I don't even remember it passing!).

I have swatches of my four favourite shades from the Coca Cola Collection for you.

Green on the Runway -  such in interesting duochrome shade.  I love the deep olive green base this has, but the warm brown durochrome is really what makes this polish special. It really is a perfect polish for Autumn, and I can see me pull this out again in a few months.  The green to orangey brown really reminds me of leaves changing colours.

Orange you Stylish - For the Australian release of this collection, we didn't get the gold and orange glitter polish called Orange you Fantastic, instead our collection features a smooth orange creme called Orange you Stylish.  Personally, I much prefer this addition to the collection, as a good orange polish is always a mush have for nail art.  This one looks great teamed up with yellow and brown shades like I did with this nail art.

You're so Vain-illa - One polish that I've been meaning to buy for at least a year is OPI My Vampire is Buff, however now that I have You're so Vain-illa, I don't feel that I need it any more.  I've checked out a bunch of comparisons, and while they are not dupes, they are pretty close, and I really love how this one looks with my skin tone. This will make an amazing base for nail art and the formula was a dream.

Today I accomplished zero - I had seen a lot of girls saying that this was their favourite polish from the whole collection, and I can see why.  It has that perfect balance of enough tint to provide good opacity, yet sheer enough to show the pink glitters through.  It does need a couple of layers of top coat to make it look glassy smooth, but I really like this one.

Which polishes did you pick up from this collection?

Gosh, I haven't gone this close to being naked in a very long time! 

I had quite a long free edge (before I filed them down a bit) so I thought it would be nice to do some sort of design as a french tip.  I've never tried stamping the french tip on, even though I have so many stamping plates that have french tip designs.  In fact I've hardly seen anyone using those french tip stamp designs. Does anyone actually use those?

I started my mani with two coats of JOSS Oh So Natural base.  It has a slight tint to it, but is still a perfect nothing shade on me.  Once that was dry, I used french tip nail vinyls to mark off the tips.  Then I started painting vertical stripes using a fine nail art brush and a range of pastel rainbow colours.

The shades I used were Picture Polish Swagger, Wisteria and Candy, OPI I can't cope-a-cabana and Ulta3 mojito.  I then topped it off with a layer of INM Northern Lights gold holo glitter topcoat.  The top coat smeared some of the colours on my middle finger, giving it a slight blue/purple cast, but it's probably only something I would notice (and I really should stop pointing out the flaws in my manis to you all :))

Something really simple to show you tonight, a good old glitter tip gradient.

My base is two coats of OPI Don't touch my tutu and the glitter tip is sponged on layers of Lynnderella Diamond Light.

Bleah, I'm boring tonight, I have nothing interesting to tell you. 

Time to see sparkly nails and then to move along.

I am so over winter already, I've just about had enough of these cold mornings.  I've been quite spoiled for the last three months, because I had a basement car park under our office building in the city.  This was awesome for two reasons - 1. free city parking and 2. a nice warm car.  I normally have free city parking because I ride a motorbike to work, but of course that means I quite literally freeze my fingers off when riding to work on mornings like today (which was minus 4 degrees).  The other reason I'm jack of winter is because it's too damn dark!  I actually stood around for 10 minutes this morning before riding to work, just so that the sun had risen up above the roof of the house next door so I could take a sunlight photo of my nails!  I have a light box, but I still haven't sorted out my lighting issues with it to get satisfactory photos.

Here is a mani that I put on to warm me up.  Bright purples, oranges and yellows definitely make me feel warmer.

I used Picture Polish Violet Femme and Citrus and OPI I can't cope-a-cabana for this mani.  My thumb, index and pinky fingers have a gradient sponged on over white and the middle and ring fingers have a stamping decal.  I can't remember the stamping plate at the moment, and I'm too cold to unwrap the blanket (and the cat) on my lap to get up and look.

Looking through my draft folder of images it turns out I've been on serious rainbow kick!  I've always said that rainbow is my favourite colour, so it's no surprise really.  I actually have enough rainbow manis (if I include the neon rainbow gradient from yesterday) to have an entire week of rainbow designs.

So my second mani in my week long rainbow extravaganza is this horizontal free hand striped mani.

I find doing horizontal stripes so hard to do.  Vertical ones are easy, but I really struggle to get the lines even right to the edges of my nails. 

I used Picture Polish Swagger, Frank-n-further and Totes, Ulta3 Blue Marlin, Palette Play and Kiwi Kaos and OPI I can't cope-acabana.

I think I'm a little bit obsessed with mini leopard print, after I was inspired by Tips and Topcoats the first time round.  I suspect that I'm going to be doing more of them because I discovered that I actually have a stamping plate with a mini leopard print design on it, so I no longer have to try and paint it with perfect tiny little spots.

The image plate is from the first set of Winstonia plates W101, available here from the Winstonia site. I used OPI Push and Shove for the silver chrome base and OPI Big Apple Red.  For a person that doesn't wear red very often, I absolutely love how this one turned out.

Other mani inspired by one I saw on Instagram, this time by @kgrdnr aka www.lacquerstyle.com.  

I started with a layer of base coat, and when then was try I taped off the two vertical stripes on each nail.  I then painted my nails using OPI DS Fantasy.  DS Fantasy is an outstanding one coater, so after just one coat I pulled off the striping tape and then added top coat.

Next I applied two thin coats of Dance Legend Cany Flakes Sun Still Sleeps.  Sun Still Sleeps has a bright blue jelly base and is full of red to green colour shifting flakies.  To finish the mani I added a stripe of matte top coat down the flakie, cause everyone knows flakies look better mattified.

I really loved the matte/glossy mix together with the negative space design.

I've actually remembered to paint a mani for this months theme of The Lacquer Legion, which is Garden. For my inspiration I walked out into my garden and had a look around.  What did I see? Lots of bare looking trees, no flowers on any bushes and certainly no spring blooms.  Plus, lots and lots of falling leaves.  This made my choice of nail art pretty easy.

I chose the leaf plate from Bundle Monster BM-H11 and created stamping decals.  My base polish is Dance Legend The New Messiah and I coloured in the leaves with OPI Big Apple Red, I can't cope-a-cobana and Jade is the new black.
