Picture Polish - Instinct

The latest collaboration shade from Picture Polish was released earlier this month and the lucky lady to put her name to this polish is the extraordinarily talented Tam from @ohmygoshpolish on Instagram.

The collaboration shade Tam created with Picture Polish is a first for a collaboration shade, as it's a straight creme polish.  No other collaborator has created a smooth creme with Picture Polish so far.  If you follow @ohmygoshpolish on Instragram, then you would already know that Tam is a huge fan of glowy polishes.  Whether they glow in the dark or are UV reactive, she loves them.  Naturally, the creme shade she created is a glower!  It's a UV reactive polish that has a spectacular glow under a black light.

I did a quick check through all my other Picture Polish shades to see which other ones were UV reactive, there were a few, but all of them were the neon shades, like sunset, hot lips and crazy.  For me, that is what makes this polish special.  It's not a neon shade, but it glows under UV more than any neon.

Instinct is an aqua leaning medium blue creme that applies smoothly and evenly. The pigmentation is good and full coverage is achieved with two easy coats.  This is two coats with Seche Vite top coat.

Now for the black light shots.  I have a small lamp that has a UV bulb in it that my son loves turning on and turning all the other lights off to see what glows.  My nails really glowed with this one.

Now I couldn't do a blog post about Tam's polish without attempting to recreate one of her manis from the hundreds of manis on Instagram.  Seriously Tam, how do you manage to post several nail art mani's a day to your account!?!?!

The mani I tried to recreate is her recent drippy mani that she did a picture tutorial for.  I'm not used to doing a black background first then then the colour on top leaving the outline, I normally just outline in black.  I think I need to get some finer nail art brushes. I'm currently using the cheap set I bought from The Born Pretty Store.  They do a good job for me, it's just they don't have a really fine detail brush.

And the glowy shots of the drippy mani.

Picture Polish Instinct is available now from Picture Polish. International ladies can purchase through one of the many Network stockists.

Polish provided for review.

  2. Wow - what a beautiful color! I love a blue polish anyway and this one is a stunner. So pretty and wearable, being a creme. Besides it being such a wonderful color, I should get it for the chuckles - my husband and I are in our 60s. Always looking for something to amuse us, make us laugh!
